JEE cut-off score dips to 105

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday declared the results of the Joint Entrance Examination-Mains 2015 for admissions into undergraduate various programmes in institutions, including the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in the country. 
Much to the joy of the engineering aspirants, the qualifying marks for eligibility for JEE (Advanced) this year has declined to 105 for general category students as compared to last year's cut-off score 115. The cut-off score for the OBC category stood at 70 while for students of SC and ST, it was declared 50 and 44 respectively. 
The top 1.5 lakh candidates among the 13 lakh students who took the exam this year will qualify for the JEE (Advanced) for admissions to IITs whereas the remaining will be eligible for National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other such institutes.
A candidate's performance in the JEE (Advanced) examination will determine his/her entry to Bachelor's and Integrated Master's and Dual Degree programmes in the 16 IITs and the Indian School of Mines (ISM). 
The results can be accessed by the hopefuls athttp://jeemain.nic.in & http://cbseresults.nic.in. The successful candidates will be eligible to register online for the JEE (Advanced) 2015 from May 2 to 7. The advanced test comprising paper 1 and 2 is slated to be held on May 24. 
This year the students had the option of appearing for their tests either by usual pen and paper pattern or online mode. The JEE Mains is the gateway to studying undergraduate courses at IITs, NITs  and other centrally funded institutions as well as several private colleges and deemed universities.
