Maihar communities collaborate with artists

Maihar in Madhya Pradesh is not your regular tourist destination. The musically inclined would know the place for Baba Allauddin Khan, the classical music maestro who founded the Maihar Gharana.

The epicenter of this activity has been at Art Ichol, founded by Kolkata art collector Ambica Beri. A partnership between artists and local communities has culminated into exhibition-cum-haat under the title of Disappearing Dialogues at Bikaner House here.—TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
