Minister flags off ORRE bus service

Transport Minister Gopal Rai flagged off the DTC's new bus service "Outer Ring Road Express (+) & (-) today from Delhi Secretariat.
The minister said that to reduce the congestion and pollution on roads, people should use public transport. This route has been so designed that it will connect National Highways and other important places across the city such as National Highway-24 at Sarai Kale Khan, National Highway-2 at Ashram and Maharani Bagh, National Highway 8 at Dhaula Kuan, National Highway-10 at Peera Garhi and National Highway-1 at Mukarba Chowk.
He said that this route would cover major traffic points at Anand Vihar ISBT, Hasanpur Depot, Delhi Secretariat, I.P. Metro Station, Sarai Kale Khan, Kalkaji Mandir, Nehru Place, Hauz Khas Metro Station, R.K. Puram Sector-I, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Cantonment, Uttam Nagar Terminal, Mukarba Chowk, Wazirabad and Seemapuri.
DTC bus catches fire
A low floor Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus caught fire in west Delhi's Punjabi Bagh area on Monday morning, the police said.
No casualties were reported. The incident took place at 8.20 am when the bus - on route 951 between Kamla Market and Pitampura West Enclave - took a turn from a roundabout and was about to pass an intersection beneath a Metro flyover.
