Police asked to enforce ban on chewing tobacco

New Delhi, January 11

The Aam Aadmi Party government has asked Delhi Police to enforce ban on sale, manufacturing and storage of all forms of chewing tobacco imposed by it in the national Capital in April last year.

Deputy Commissioner (Food Safety) Jai Parkash in a letter to Deputy Commissioner of the Police cited the September 29, 2016 order of the Supreme Court for “total compliance” of the ban imposed on manufacturing and sale of gutka and pan masala with tobacco and/or nicotine.
