In a freak accident, a 18-year-old boy died today after his throat got slit with a kite thread while he was driving his motorcycle in Timarpur, said a police official.

The victim, Ravi, was living with his family in Yograj Colony and was working in a factory in Badli Industrial area. His throat got slit by the 'manja'.

After the incident, Ravi fell on the road and strugged for life. Onlookers took him to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, he added.

Police has sent the body for post-mortem and will file a case after getting the autopsy report, the official added.
