DLSA gives Rs3 lakh to rape victim

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ambala, has decided to give a compensation of Rs 3 lakh to a rape victim under the Haryana Victim Compensation Scheme, 2013.

Archana Yadav, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM)-cum-Secretary, DLSA, Ambala, said: “A case was registered on February 15 last year. The victim had applied for the compensation. The DLSA has decided to give a compensation of Rs 3 lakh to the victim.”

She said: “The state government had launched the Victim Compensation Scheme, 2013, for giving financial help to the victim or dependants, who suffered loss or injury due to crime and required rehabilitation.” —TNS
