Chandigarh, March 3
Thirteen out of over 2,200 students, who appeared for the Chandigarh Zone’s National Talent Search Examination (NTSE)-2015, cleared the exam.
The NTSE is a scholarship exam for school students. The examination was organised by the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Chandigarh.
The students said the competition was very tough and it was a battle of brains where concept and reasoning were the key to correctly answer the questions in a limited time.
The successful students are - Karan Mittal, Aashish Waikar, Ankush Jindal, Uddhav Agarwal, Basudhara Mete, Himanshu Bansal, Vaibhav Gupta, Jeetika, Rushil Gupta, Jannat Bedi, Jagdeep Singh and Gayatri Lal.
The result of the State Level National Talent Search Examination - 2015 (Stage-I) for Class X, which was held November 2, 2014, was announced on March 2.
These students have been qualified to appear for the second stage of the NTSE-2015, which is to be conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Delhi, in the second week of May this year.
The NTSE exam is conducted every year for Class 10 students and is extremely popular scholarship examination among the bright and talented students of the country.
This scheme was initiated in 1963 by the Government of India to bring up qualitative improvement in the school education.
Of these 13 students, 12 were from the FIITJEE.
