15-year-old Valley girl awarded Kurt Hahn scholarship in Thailand

A higher secondary student from the outskirts of Srinagar has been selected for the prestigious Kurt Hahn scholarship, Thailand. She is the second student of India to be awarded the fulltime scholarship for two years.
A student of Delhi Public School (DPS), Budgam, 15-year-old Bushra Nabi has secured the scholarship after going through multiple competitions.
“We are proud to announce the selection of Bushra Nabi to Thailand on a full scholarship for Classes XI and XII. She is the recipient of Kurt Hahn scholarship provided by the Phuket International Academy, Thailand,” the administrators of the school said.
The school officials said Bushra became the first girl from the Valley to get the scholarship and second from India.
“Bushra has been selected from a pool of competitive applicants and after going through rigorous selection process, she has made it to the list of selected candidates. It is worth to note that only two students have been selected from India for this scholarship. One is Bushra and another Hemlata from Dehradun, Uttar Pradesh,” they said.
With her deep interest in International Relations, Bushra has already spent one year in the US. “Bushra has already spent one complete academic year in the United States of America where she was sent as an exchange student under KL-YES Scholarship in 2013.
“She has deep interest in international relations and wants to make a career in administration,” they added.
Thanking the school administration, Bushra said, “It is all because of the efforts of the school that helps students develop the spirit of excellence. I am thankful to teachers for providing such opportunities and making us develops the spirit of excellence.”
