Analysing the general studies paper, city-based UPSC examination expert Kunal Singh said, “Majority of the questions in general studies paper which was common for all four domains were related to project management, basic engineering sciences like material science, quality management as mathematical reasoning, problem solving approach, makes it a little different from previous years’ trend.”
“Earlier, current affairs used to have a considerable weight age in general studies paper but the tested majorly general science and engineering application in paper-I which every engineering candidate studies in first year of course. It is definitely a good step,” he said.
Shivam, a student of UIET, Panjab University, who appeared for the exam said, “I found the GS section moderate but paper-II was a bit tough which needed a good subject knowledge rather than university type theoretical knowledge.”
Another candidate Karanjit Singh said, “The change in pattern and month of examination is definitely responsible for fall in attendance. Earlier, the exam used to be conducted in May when students had already passed out of college.”
