Nine out of the 10 best schools in Class XII results declared by Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) are government run. In the worst category, six out of 10 were private.
The information came to light after Wazir Singh, state president, Haryana Adhyapak Sangh, sought information from the board in this context.
Four top schools were in Sonepat — Chhichhrana, Hullaheri, Tewari and Chhapra villages. Two such schools are in Panipat at Mahawati village and Panipat town, one in Kurukshetra at Thaskra Miranji village, one at Ambala in Jatwar village and at Mundia Khera village, which is the home district of Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma.
The lone private school in top 10 is BL Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School at Pali in Mahendergarh.
In worst ten slot, six were private schools in Palwal, Bhiwani, Faridabad, Yamuna Nagar, Hisar and Rewari. The four government schools to figure in this list were in Bhagwatipur, Ladhot and Dhamar villages in Rohtak, one in Hisar, one private school at Rishi Nagar and one government school at Petwar village.
In Class XII, 2,58,841 students appeared out of which 1,39, 659 cleared the exam in 7,000 government schools and an equal number of private schools.
