Patiala: Around 200 students were rewarded with trophies at Police DAV Public School. The trophies were given away to the winners for various co-scholastic activities such as english debate, declamation, spell-well, quiz, etc. The competitions were conducted by language, maths, science, social science, art/craft, music and dance departments of the school. Principal Meena Thapar gave away the prizes and congratulated the winners.

NTSE toppers 

Mehakpreet Kaur of Budha Dal Public School topped the Punjab Zone in the National Talent Search Examination (Stage I). She  scored 140 marks out of 150 in the coveted exam. Deepkanwal Singh, Trishit and Anurag Bansal have also brought laurels by qualifying for the Stage II of the exam to be held on May 14.Teachers applauded Mehakpreet’s efforts and hard work. Principal Amrit Aujla accredited the children for their laudable performance.

Seminar organised 

To create awareness among the students about the need for judicious use and conservation of petroleum products, a seminar under programme ‘SAKSHAM 2017’ was organised by Happy Bharat Gas and Ekomkar Gas Service at Ryan International School. The seminar was headed by Promila Singh (Manager Sales, BPCL, Lalru) and Amrinder Kaur (Petroleum Conservation Research Association, Chandigarh) who educated the students about the efficient use of energy. The seminar ended with an interesting quiz and a pledge. Principal Pooja Sharma encouraged the students to use resources judicially and conserve them for the future generations.

Farewell party

Scholar Fields Public School organised “ADIOS” for the students of Class XII. The title of the event was ‘Bonne Vie, Bonne Chance’ which means ‘Good luck, good chance’. The function started with a farewell and good-luck message by the head boy of the school and school principal Chanadandeep Kaur. There were singing and dance performances by the students of junior class. Several games were also organised to make the event fun-filled. The theme of the event was ‘Retro – Royal’. Arshdeep Sing and Harkiran Kaur were crowned with the titles of Mr and Ms Scholar. Jivtesh Singh and Isha were first runners-up and Shivraj Singh and Anmol Dhaliwal were second runners-up. School Chairman S S Chadha and Director Sodhi blessed students for their future endeavors. —TNS
