Annual training camp of NCC air wing begins

The Combined Annual Training Camp of the Chandigarh NCC Air Squadron began at the Air Force’s No.3 Base Repair Depot (BRD) here today.
Cadets from five local institutes, along with a support staff of Air Force personnel and associate NCC officers, are participating in the camp, which will conclude on January 12.
Inaugurating the camp, Col Rakesh Kundlas, Deputy Commander, Chandigarh NCC Group, said the NCC imparts discipline and fitness among the youth. He exhorted the cadets to excel in all fields, enjoy the training and develop camaraderie and friendship among themselves. The camp commandant, Wing Commander MR Pandeya, said the camp was aimed at imparting quality training to the cadets in drill, weapon use, firing and aero-modelling, besides conducting sessions on national integration, road safety, fire safety, health and hygiene and personality development. Various competitions such as quiz, sports and cultural activities are also being conducted to identify potential cadets who will be fielded for various national-level camps. As part of training and motivation, cadets will also be shown various aircraft of the Air Force.
