Aryan wins maths olympiad in Children’s Science Congress

Aryan Prashar, a student of Green Field Senior Secondary School, Nagrota Bagwan, stood first in the mathematics olympiad of the State Children Science Congress which was held recently at Nahan in Sirmour district.
Sudhanshu Sharma, principal of Green Field Senior Secondary School, today said students from various schools of 11 districts participated in the Children Science Congress (CSC). Green Field had been showing excellence in the mathematics olympiad from the past three years by winning the runners-up trophy. The tradition was by a talented former student Garima Sharma, he stated.
In Senior Secondary Quiz competition, Arushi Walia and Apresh Koundal got the second position and in the same event, Riya and Shweta fromthe junior section got the third position at state level. The scientific model of Ritik Dogra and Gourav Koundal was highly acclaimed by SCERT members, the principal said.
Green Field School had been the overall district champion for the past five years. Sonal Dhiman and Arushi Walia had also availed an opportunity to visit Bhaba Atomic Research Center (BARC) on the recommendation of the Children Science Congress of Himachal, Sudhanshu said.
He thanked the Science Congress for providing students a platform to exhibit their talent. The Congress was also attracting other students to attend such competitions in the future. Sudhanshu appreciated the efforts of CSC school coordinator Rohit Kaushal and Information and Technology lecturer Renu Sharma for guiding participants and congratulated all the teachers who put their best efforts for the students’ achievements in CSC.
