Ludhiana: ASISC quiz competition 2015 was held at Ram Lal Bhasin Public School, Phase-I, Dugri. Various schools affiliated to CISCE participated in it. A floral welcome was offered to guest of the day Dr Nerotma Sharma from Malwa Central College of Education, Ludhiana, who conducted the programme and had been the key note speaker. Principal Suman Arora gave a warm welcome to the guests and other dignitaries, staff and participants of various ICSCE school teams. The competition was divided in two groups- junior and senior group. As many as 20 students participated in the competition including both the groups with four rounds based on general awareness, audio/visual round, buzzer round and rapid fire round. The contest received an over- whelming response. The topics were very relevant and thought provoking. All the participants were encouraged and honored for their excellence with big rounds of applause.

Orientation programme 

An orientation programme for the parents of new students was organised at BCM School, Basant City. Principal Amarjyoti Chawla emphasised upon the vital role played by the parents in the upbringing of children and stress free lifestyle. Coordinator Anuradha Bhanot and counselor Amrit Pal KaurSidhu emphasised upon the curriculum and proper dietary habits. Award giving ceremony from class nursery to second was also celebrated to encourage the students for their achievements. The ceremony ended with National Anthem.

Red Day celebrated

Kindergarten section of Guru Nanak Public School celebrated Red Day. The aim of celebration of this day was to reinforce identification of red colour. The little children came dressed in red coloured outfits looking vibrant and bright. The tiny tots displayed their talent by doing hand printing and other activities with red colour. The children were told about the importance of red colour. The school premises and the display boards were decorated with red colour articles. Children from each class spoke a few lines on the significance red colour. — TNS
