Ludhiana: Macmillan Education conducted IAIS (International Assessments for Indian Schools) Test at Guru Nanak Public School to assess the students’ academic abilities in English, Science, Mathematics and Computer skills. The IAIS suite is developed by Educational Assessment Australia (EAA), it is a large scale measurement and assessment programme, and 20 counties globally follow it. As many as 489 students from GNPS from Classes III to VIII participated in it and passed it with flying colors. 15 students bagged distinction, 113 were awarded credit and 361 got participation certificates. Principal Mona Singh felicitated the winners for their efforts and achievements and said such examinations conducted by external agencies served to build confidence among students.

Students of Ryan School, Dugri, participated in Silver Zone Olympiad. Results of maths and computer olympiad were declared. Sidak of Class I, Shreyansh of Class V and Sehajdeep of Class VII won gold medal and Manbhav of Class V won silver medal. In computer olympiad, Arnav of Class I won gold medal and Dakshit of Class I won silver medal. Headmistress Ritu Syal congratulated allthe winners and also wished good luck to the participants.

 

Mother Language Day

 

ABC Montessori School celebrated the “International Mother Language Day” with fun and fervor. Director Amanpreet Singh Arora said, “Mother tongue is a strong bond between the mother and child. And mothers should motivate their children to speak mother tongue. Mother tongue is actually the expression of a child’s feelings. A painting competition was organised. Students of Nursery, LKG and UKG spoke on different topics in their mother tongue. — TNS
