A parent-teacher meet, in altogether different note and scale, was organised at the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) on Monday.
A massive jamboree of parents and relatives of the cadets filled the campus with unusual vibrancy.
It was an all-day affair which began with the Commandant’s address at the Thimayya auditorium. Col Vivek Sharma, Commandant, RIMC, called parents ‘partners’ in pedagogy at the RIMC and called for their involvement in the effective management of the school. The meeting was succeeded by a high tea at the Academic Block.
The parents-teachers’ interactions were planned in an elaborate manner, exceptional display of equitation, grit and guts in PT display and immense talent in hobbies, including aero modelling.
A massive exhibition of various hobby clubs was organised to showcase the talents of cadets in extracurricular activities.
The post-lunch session witnessed mesmerising display of daredevil horse riding show by cadets under the leadership of Section Commander Cadet Vickrant Raj.
A captivating display of mass PT and aerobic PT followed riding show, rhythm and synchronous movements of cadets left audience spellbound.
Lt Gen R K Nanavatty (retd) and his wife Suniti Nanavatty were the chief guests on the occasion. Lt Gen Nanavatty praised the cadets for their grit and determination.
Col Arun Mamgain, Retd, former RIMC Commandent and Ajit Singh were other eminent dignitaries present on the occasion.
