Campus placement drive

Ludhiana: Asahi India Glass and Infogain Corporation conducted a placement drives at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College. The selection was done in four rounds namely group discussion followed by technical, language, aptitude, and psychometric test andpersonal interview. More than 150 students applied for the drive. Three students were selected by Asahi India and eightstudents were selectedby for Infogain. Dr KS Mann, Dean, Trainingand Placement, congratulated the students.Dr MS Saini, director, appreciated the efforts of the Training and Placement Cell.

Freshers’ party

Students Chapter of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) of Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GNIMT), Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, organised a freshers’ party at the Institute for under-graduate and post-graduate courses. Students exhibited their talent and skills. Freshers participated in a modeling show. Mr Fresher and Miss Fresher competition for UG and PG courses were also held on the occasion.

Hindi Diwas

‘Hindi Diwas’ was held at Khalsa College for Women. Department of Hindi and Sanskrit organised Doha Gayan contest in which 20 participants show cased their talent by reciting dohas of Kabir, Rahim Vrina and Ravidas. The audience were mesmerised with the dohas presented by the students. Principal Dr Mukti Gill was the guest of honour. She congratulated teachers of Hindi and Sanskrit Department and all the students. She added that teachers must emphasise on the practicing of Hindi language. — TNS
