Ludhiana, February 14
Nearly 73 feed millers from all parts of Punjab participated in a three-day specialised cattle feed manufacturing course conducted by Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University.
Coordinator Dr Jaswinder Singh said various techniques of feed manufacturing such as purchase and storage of feed ingredients, ration formulation for different categories of animals, importance of bypass fat and protein for ruminants were discussed.
Santokh Singh, officer of dairy development, Ludhiana, said this course was necessary for every cattle feed manufacturer to get the licence for marketing the feed in the state.
Dr MP Gupta, Head, Department of Veterinary Extension, said the department offers many utility services for farmers and feed manufacturers.
The function was presided over by Dr HK Verma, Director of Extension Education. He distributed certificates and advised cattle feed entrepreneurs to make good quality and balanced feed so that economical milk production could be achieved.
