Chandragupta section wins English debate trophy

Chandragupta Section won the overall trophy in the inter section English debate competition of the RIMC here today.

Pratap and Chandragupta sections were able to make their way into the finals in the seniors’ category.

In the seniors’ category, six cadets participated in the finals and the debate was held on the Cambridge pattern. Cadet Watandeep Singh Sidhu bagged the best speaker award while Cadet Animesh Chug was adjudged the second best speaker.

The competition in the juniors’ category was held on the Oxford pattern and eight cadets participated in it. Cadet Somay Badola was adjudged the best speaker while Cadet Adhiraj Singh Rawat bagged the second best speaker award. Chandragupta Section with 877 points bagged the the overall trophy, followed by Pratap (804.5 points), Shivaji (498 points) and Ranjit (462 points) sections. Col HS Bainsla, Commandant, RIMC, presented a vote of thanks.
