College girls take out rallyfor communal harmony

A rally was taken out by the volunteers of NSS (girls), Youth Club (girls) and Press Club of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, today to observe Sadbhavana Diwas.

The rally was flagged off by Principal Dr Narinder Sidhu. Girls’ wing in charge Prof Amarjeeet Kaur and Dr Kuldeep Singh, associate professor, department of political science, were also present.

The Principal exhorted volunteers to try and make every possible effort by which world peace could be strengthened so that every individual live in harmony and peace. He said volunteers should try their best to create an atmosphere of understanding and fellow feeling among themselves and strengthen their bond.

A rally was carried out through the town, wherein volunteers raised their voice in favour of national integration and communal harmony to be promoted among people of all religions of the country. They also raised their voice against the terrorist activities being carried out in various parts of the country and the separatist forces that were trying to create terror among people and bringing disgrace to the fair name of the country.

Volunteers raised slogans, distributed pamphlets among residents and educated them about the significance of the day. They strived to work for emotional oneness and harmony of the country. The residents pledged that they would try to create a sense of equality.

They also took an undertaking that they would resolve all differences in or out of the country with talks and never resort to violent means.
