Panjab University has announced the counselling schedule for admission to MEd (general). The counseling will be conducted on July 14 at 9.30 am at the PU department of education, Arts Block-II. The applicants have been advised to bring their original certificates and other relevant documents for verification. The attendance at counseling is compulsory.
Applications Invited
Panjab University has invited applications for admission to BEd in the PU affiliated colleges in Chandigarh. The applications have been invited for admissions to BEd (general), BEd (yoga) and BEd Special Education (mental retardation). Online application forms and counselling schedule for the same are available at website http://bedadmissions.puchd.ac.in.
Fee Hike: Memorandum submitted to VC
The local unit of ABVP gave a memorandum to Panjab University Vice-Chancellor regarding fee hike in hostels. It also held a protest against the decision and demanded to role it back. The hike in fee is not only for hostlers but also for students who are staying in hostels on a daily basis. ABVP worker Harmanjot Singh Gill said the fee of students staying on a daily basis was already so high, and this move was not acceptable. The ABVP also announced that if the university would not accept their demands, it would launch a mass agitation against the authorities.
Provisional admission for old students
Panjab University for the first time has allowed the students of third, fifth, seventh and ninth semesters to have provisional admission to their next semesters before the declaration of their results of the lower semesters of the respective departments. The Dean University Instructions today issued guidelines to all departments that the regular classes for third, fifth, seventh and ninth semester students should be started from July 18 that is from next Monday. As per the instructions, the students will be admitted to the next higher class provisionally by submitting an undertaking for being admitted at their own risk and responsibility.The admission would be confirmed only after meeting the due requirements of rules and regulation of the courses concerned. The due fees would be deposited by the students within 10 days of the declaration of result of the lower semester, PU spokesperson said. The classes would start in all teaching departments, centres, institutes and PU Regional Centres at Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Kauni and Muktsar. — TNS
