PUSU president Navaldeep Singh along with Ashish and Ishan met the DUI to reiterate their demands.

The key demands included approval for allocation of hostel accommodation for sportspersons representing the university and getting admission on sports quota.

“It is shameful that the university which is ranked amongst the top in the country does not have a provision for hostel accommodation for sportspersons in its calendar. Students like Namanveer Singh who recently brought laurels to the university at the World University Games and many alike, who represent the university at different levels, does not have hostel accommodation. Giving the achievers their due right should be the priority of the authorities,” said Navaldeep.

Citing lack of space in comparison to students who come to study in the Reading Room of the library, PUSU has demanded that students should be allowed to take their personal books to the top floor of the AC Joshi Library.

Ashish Kumar stressed on demands related to UIET for conduct of improvement exams.
