Chandigarh, November 14
The process to fill 180 vacant posts under the Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is slated to start soon.
Confirming the same, Director, School Education, Rubinderjit Singh Brar said the process would start in December. The minimum qualification for the post of teacher under the SSA is Central Teacher Eligibility Test (C]TET).
“There will be no interview this time. Instead, in order to make the process transparent, the recruitment will be done on the basis of the score in CTET,” revealed the DSE.
Notably, due to shortage of SSA teachers, the Education Department had hired contractual teachers several times over the past few years. On countless occasions, the Sarv Shiksha Union, Chandigarh, too, demanded filling up of vacant posts but in vain. The union also demanded that the teachers hired on contract-basis be regularised.
They even sought the intervention of the MHRD in this regard, which assured that the matter would be resolved soon.
