Dr Shraddha Thakkar, an alumnus of Gayatri Vidhyapeeth, Shantikunj, Haridwar, was felicitated for her research work at a function organised by Dev Sanskriti University recently.
She was bestowed with certificate and a memento by Chancellor of the university Dr Pranav Pandya. Attributing faith in the Almighty, dedication, hard work and educational ambience provided by Dev Sanskriti University and Gayatri Shantikunj for her success, Dr Shraddha said without hard work, guidance and determination one couldn’t succeed.
Recently, Dr Thakkar got three US patent applications approved and eight research presentations done at various national and international seminars. She has received various awards, which include the Genentech Innovation in Biotechnology Award at the National Biotech Conference 2012, the Margret C Etter’s Student Lecturer Award at the American Crystallography Association Conference 2012 and the Outstanding Ph.D Graduate Student Award 2014 from the George W Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology of UALR.
Dr Shraddha is the only Asian to be awarded the gold medal for pioneering research in Methamphetamine.
Currently, Dr Thakkar is a research fellow at the National Centre for Toxicological Research, US, and is pursing research on the use of structural and computational techniques for the elucidation of macromolecular mechanisms relevant for drugs and its toxicity.—TNS
