Patiala, October 8
A lecture was organised at the multipurpose hall of Government Mohindra College, Patiala. The lecture was attended by a large number of students and members of the faculty of the college.
Punjab Cabinet Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra presided over the lecture. Dr Gulshan Sharma, Director, ITFT, was the keynote speaker.
Principal Sukhbir Singh Thind, who welcomed the guests, said students should become self-sufficient by studying and working hard and following all rules of discipline.
Dr Gulshan Sharma said there was a plethora of career opportunities for students with over 50,000 vocational subjects.
However, he said just rote learning and getting good grades was not enough in this day and age. Students should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to critically evaluate their own skill sets, improving their flaws and projecting their virtues.
He counselled the students not to follow the herd mentality, and choose their vocation by the subjects and fields they are interested in. He said the ITFT would soon commence such motivational lectures at Government Mohindra College, Patiala, via satellite in which BA and MA final-year students will be guided and counselled.
