Feebank —an educational app to convey information to the parents about their children’s performance and health, was launched by Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat today at Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), PAU.
This kind of mobile app has been launched for a government school for the first time in the state and would be launched in government schools across the district.
Bhagat stated the app would help improve the performance of the students further. It would help by aiding interaction amongst parents and teachers.
The audio lessons would also go a long way in helping children understand tough lessons with ease, he added.
Teachers of the school said it was a great initiative. “Though such apps are being used by some private schools, no such app was used in government schools. It would help us in conveying any information about students to their parents, who we only meet twice a year during parent-teacher meeting,” said one of the teachers.
Principal Sanjiv Thapar said the app would greatly help the parents as they would know about their children’s behavior and performance as sometimes students go absent or don’t even let them know about their performance.
Paramjit Kaur Chahal, DEO (Secondary), speaking about the app earlier, said the students in the district did well this year and this initiative would help better their performance.
How it works
Once the app is downloaded on cellphone, parents can sign up to create an account, and from menu options, they can select the district, school name and admission number of the child to view the information. They would be able to see the lectures and attendance details of their child, any remarks made by teachers, their test results, report cards and medical information of any health check-ups conducted at the school. The information would also be available on the website feebank.in.
Audio lessons
The mobile app would comprise audio lessons to listen to for the students. Tough chapters for classes III, IV, V, IX and X have been uploaded which can be accessed online and listened to. Students can also request to upload tough chapters, which will be especially doe for them.
Data to be added
As per Bhagat, the data regarding GMSSS, PAU, has been added to the app already. The data of some other government schools of the district will also be collected and added during the summer vacations.
