To enhance the speaking skills of students, the Postgraduate Department of English of Lajpat Rai DAV College, Jagraon, organised an extension lecture on the topic, “Problems of Pronunciation in English”, today.

Prof DV Jindal, former Professor, SCD Government College, Ludhiana, was the speaker on the occasion.

During his interaction with students, he threw light on various important aspects of spoken English such as silent letters, intonation, stress etc.

Vice-Principal Rekha Watts, Head, Postgraduate Department of English, welcomed the guests. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Bindu Shrma. College principal Karan Sharma said the lecture would prove fruitful for students. Prof Karam Singh Sandhu, Dr Anuj Kumar, Prof PS Mitha, Prof Kuljit Grewal, Prof Pankaj Rani, Prof Neha and Gulshan Kumar were also present. — OC
