Farewell parties fare well in city colleges

Today was a day of farewell parties. The scene outside some of the prominent colleges was of celebration as girls came dressed in beautiful attires to attend the last day of their college.

Girls specially got their outfits ready after month’s preparation and most of them had gone to the make-up artists to dazzle on the stage during the farewell parties.

Campus of Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women dazzled with colours amid the farewell party today. The outgoing class was welcomed by teachers and juniors whole heartedly. Principal Harminder Kaur addressed the students and wished them for their bright future.

A cultural bonanza was arranged by the students of BA II year. Students rocked the stage with their captivating dance performances and melodious songs. Flaunting their attires, young girls walked gracefully on the ramp and competed for the coveted titles. Rimple, Ritu and Maninder Kaur bagged the titles of Miss Farewell, first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively. Gurleen Kaur clinched the title of Miss Beautiful Smile and Navneet Kaur was awarded for the Best Outfit.

Vibrancy, colour and jubilation were all pervasive, when the students of Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, bid adieu to their seniors during a farewell party organised on the college campus.

Veerawali was adjudged Miss Farewell, Anchal Gaba and Heena were declared first and second runners-up, respectively. Other categories awarded were Atisha (Miss Beautiful Attire), Jyoti (Miss Beautiful Smile), Simran (Miss Crowing Beauty), Amandeep (Best Catwalk), Simran (Miss Elegance). Various games were also played on the occasion to keep the audience hooked.

Principal Dr Sarita Bahl crowned the winners and applauded their efforts. She motivated the students to embark upon their future life with grit and determination.

Campus of Government College for Girls was filled with colour amid the hostel farewell celebrations. It was a special moment for hostellers as junior students of the hostel organised a farewell party.

Principal Dr Mohinder Kaur Grewal presided over the function. Varinderjit Kaur, hostel convenor, accorded a warm welcome by presenting a bouquet to the principal.

Grewal appreciated the efforts put in by junior students and hostel warden and congratulated them on their excellent performance.

Gursharan Kaur was adjudged Miss Farewell. Jashanjot and Priyanka Behl were declared first and second runners-up, respectively. Miss Charming Glory was awarded to Maninder Kaur. Sarabjeet Kaur was adjudged Beautiful Smile and Beauty of Simplicity award was won by Pardeep Kaur. Harshabneet was entitled as Miss Catwalk and Gurpreet Kaur and Sarabjeet Kaur were adjudged as Miss Personality.

Students of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, celebrated their association of three years through a farewell party — Rukhsat 2016.

Beauty pageant show was the highlight of the function. Karanpreet was crowned as Miss Farewell, and Karanpreet and Dikshita were adjudged as first and second runners-up, respectively. The other titles were Best Attire- Japneesh; Attractive Smile- Simran; Rapunzel’s Hair - Hanspreet.

The revelry of the farewell party reached apex as lovely damsels dedicating songs to their teachers expressing their affection and gratitude.

Principal Manjit Kaur Ghuman crowned the winners and motivated them to empower themselves for all their future endeavours. She asserted that the students should carry forward the morals given by their alma mater and make these values a base of their future actions and thoughts.

It was a special moment for the hostel students of Guru Nanak College for Girls as juniors bid farewell to their seniors. Gurbir Singh, president, Guru Nanak Education Trust and principal Dr Charanjit Mahal presided over the function. To add colour to the occasion, students presented an entertaining cultural programme. The main attraction of the programme was the modeling by students of the final year dressed in trendy clothes. They walked down the ramp with rhythmic music in the background. Harpreet Kaur was adjudged Miss Farewell. Shubkarmandeep and Harsimran were crowned as first and second runners-up, respectively. Gagandeep, Arshsdeep, Jasmine and Navpreet were crowned as Miss Elegant, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Best Outfit and Miss Beautiful Hair, respectively.
