Fete at Saraswati Modern Senior Secondary School
The Group of Saraswati Schools organised a gala fete on the campus of Saraswati Modern Senior Secondary School, Hambran Road. Founder of the school Kamla Jain along with secretary of the school Pradeep Jain inaugurated the fete. The exhibits of craft and science models were the centre of attraction for the parents. Parents and students enjoyed various games and had lot of fun. People made a beeline for sumptuous dishes displayed on various stalls. A singing and dancing competition was widely appreciated by all. The fete came to its culmination by announcing lucky draws for various attractive prizes. All lucky winners were given prizes by Manager SC Saxena, Gitanjali Datta and Mona Thakur, principals of Civil Line Branch and CBSE branch.
Nursery students visit Chrysanthemum Show
Students of Nursery Classes of Maple Bear Canadian Pre-School, Ludhiana, visited the Chrysanthemum Show being orgainsed by PAU. Kids were told about the importance of flowers in our daily life. Tiny tots and the teachers appreciated the diverse and colourful varieties of chrysanthemum.
World Anti-Corruption Day
World Anti-Corruption Day was celebrated at Ryan School, Dugri. Under the blessing and guidance of Honorable Chairman Dr AF Pinto, Ryan International School, Dugri celebrated the International Anti-Corruption Day. Students of Class I-II participated in slogan writing and students of Class III-V participated in poster making competition. Corruption in India is a major issue that adversely affects its economy. A study conducted by Transparency International in year 2005 found that more than 62 per cent of Indians have firsthand experience of paying bribes or influence peddling to get jobs done in public offices successfully. Students of Class VI onwards visited PAU for flower show. Students relished the beauty of chrysanthemum and its variety. Headmistress Ritu Syal marked the importance of Anti-Corruption Day told students to say no to bribe.
Sportspersons felicitated
BCM Arya organised an event to recognise achievements of more than 130 players competing at State and National level winning medals and certificates of appreciation. Joginder Singh, former director, CBI, graced the occasion as chief guest and gave away the prizes. “Over the years sports are known to produce remarkable athletes, influential leaders, memorable heroes and dedicated coaches. Today’s celebration recognises the ability of young players to play great games both on and off the field.
