Chandigarh, July 14
The Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, is gearing up to celebrate its silver jubilee in a big way by lining up a series of programmes from September 9 to 10. It was in 1991, that the GMCH started functioning from Prayaas building, Sector 38, Chandigarh, with General Hospital, Sector 16, as an attached teaching hospital. The hospital has been consistently ranked among the top 25 medical institutions in the country.
GMCH Director-Principal Atul Sachdev said the preparations were in full swing for the silver jubilee celebrations.
“Our alumnus chapter has been formed. As many as 500 alumni from across the world will not only be the part of the celebrations but will also share their experiences with the current batches of students and employees,” he said. “On the occasion, we will also release a coffee table book on the GMCH, depicting the institute’s incredible journey from its nascent stage to the present day,” he said. — TNS
