Ludhiana: Shivangi, a student of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bypass, has topped the Capital Market Dealers’ Module (NCFM) test conducted online at the national level on January 15 by the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Around 17 students appeared for the test, of whom Shivangi scored 100 marks, which is a rare achievement in itself. Rajesh Rudhra, Chairman-cum-Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools, and Principal Baldeep Pandher congratulated Shivangi and her parents on her success.

Meanwhile, an inter-class solo dance competition was held at New Subhash Nagar branch of Green Land Schools.

Seminar on ‘adolescent behaviour’

Guru Nanak International Public School today organised a seminar on ‘adolescent behaviour’ on its premises for the students of Classes VIII and IX. The seminar was organised keeping in view the changing needs and aspirations of children. The resource person, Vivek, in his presentation, highlighted the psycho-social issues of the adolescents. He mentioned about different socio-emotional areas of adolescents such as identity crisis, abuse of technology, peer pressure, drug addiction, importance of close friendship, role of parents, teachers and other factors. Students raised many queries during the seminar.

Power Point competition

AS Modern Senior Secondary School, Khanna, organised Ludhiana East Sahodaya Inter-School Power Point Competition. The competition comprised two levels for juniors and seniors. In the junior level, AS Modern Sen. Secondary School got the first position, Doraha School got the second place and Garden Valley School secured the third position. In the senior level, Swami Chaggan Lala Hans Raj Jain School stood first, Hargobind School second and Ryan International School third, respectively.

Traffic management and road safety workshop

An interactive session and workshop was organised at Ryan International School by the Traffic Police. ACP-Traffic Richa Agnihotri presided over the workshop. ASI Sukhdev Singh apprised the students of the traffic rules. He made the students aware of various traffic signs and surveys conducted by the government. This was followed by an interactive session with ACP-Traffic Richa Agnihotri. She answered a volley of questions on the traffic rules and other issues. She also talked about the traffic helpline. This interactive session was really inspiring for students. Thereafter, AK Joshi, from Maruti Driving School, gave a presentation on traffic management, following the traffic rules, etc. The students were asked not to ignore road signs, traffic signals and rules. Meanwhile, Chinthana English Grammar Examination was conducted at the Dugri branch of the school.

Virtual solar system created

The primary wing of Bal Bharati Public School explored space and peeped into the universe in a novel way. A virtual solar system was created on the school campus to acquaint the students with the heavenly bodies. The Sun, along with the other eight planets, were portrayed to the learners to explain the concept of Solar system in our Cosmos. As they walked by each “planet”, their features were elaborately explained by some students who were dressed as astronauts. The faculty members also answered their queries. The learners were also informed about the distance of each planet from the Sun and their uniqueness. Principal Punam Dogra lauded the efforts of the faculty in making learning interesting. — TNS
