Ludhiana: The 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh was celebrated at Green Land Convent School, Dugri. A Special assembly was conducted to mark the occasion. The assembly commenced with a ‘Shabad Gayan’. The students were given an insight into the life of Guru Gobind Singh, his teachings and philosophy. Students delivered speeches and recited poems.
Shabad Rudhra, president, Green Land Schools, wished everyone on the occasion. School Director Vijayata advised the students to follow the path of the Guru with sincerity, citing the example that how the sons of the Guru obeyed their father’s order and sacrificed themselves. Principal Vimmi Thakur advised the students to obey and respect their parents following the footsteps of Guru Gobind Singh.
Sri Guru Hargobind Public School
Sri Guru Hargobind Public School, Thakkarwal, celebrated the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh. Students delivered speeches in the morning assembly and joined a nagar kirtan of Thakkarwal village. Major GS Ahluwalia, chairman, wished the students and the teachers. The school principal said we should follow the preaching of the Guru.
Bhartiya Vidya Mandir
Bhartiya Vidya Mandir commemorated the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh. Reliving the significant accounts of 10th Guru’s life, a documentary was displayed through smart boards. A ‘shabad’ competition was organised in the morning assembly. Swami Vivekananda house bagged the first position by reciting ‘Das Jan Kar Kirpa Kro’, Aurobindo house was second and Sardar Bhagat Singh and Shri Lok Manya Tilak houses shared the third position. Sixteen artists were awarded for their creations in a drawing competition. Vice-Principal Upasna Moudgil inspired them to continue working hard. Principal Neelam Mittar urged the students to follow the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh.
Greenland Convent School
Greenland Convent School, Jalandhar bypass, celebrated the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh with religious fervour and enthusiasm. The school campus reverberated with devotional shabads. Principal Baldeep Pandher highlighted the teachings of the Guru. She encouraged the students to raise their voice against injustice. Devotional hymns such as 'Waho-Waho Gobind Singh' and 'Deh Shiva Bar Mohe' were sung by the students.
BVM, Udham Singh Nagar
BVM, Udham Singh Nagar, celebrated the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh with devotion. The celebration that commenced with ‘De Shiva Var Mohe’, followed by a speech by Chahatpreet (VIII) which focussed on the selfless life of the Guru. Students of Classes V to IX sang in the praise of the Guru who sacrificed his family for the sake of humanity. Principal Bandana Sethi extended greetings.
