Noted nuclear scientist and Chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Kumar Banerjee met Governor NN Vohra, who is also the Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu, at Raj Bhawan here today.
Banerjee was accompanied by Mehraj-ud-Din, Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir.
Banerjee discussed with the Governor the infrastructural difficulties being faced in the development of the CUK because of the high ground water level in the Ganderbal area where the new university campus was coming up, an official statement said.
The two Chancellors also exchanged views and experiences on the larger issues and challenges being faced in the advancement of higher education in Jammu and Kashmir.
For ensuring the rapid and balanced growth of the Central universities, the two Chancellors agreed that all necessary steps should be taken to advance collaborations between the two varsities and the other state and private universities to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
