Fatehgarh Sahib, May 24
Harsimran Singh bagged the first position in Fatehgarh Sahib even as girls outdid boys in the PSEB examinations by bagging eight merit positions out of the nine in the district. Harsimran Singh of Mata Sundri Senior Secondary School (MSSSS), Atewali, bagged the first position by securing 97.69 per cent while Gudialjit Kaur of the GRSD Public School, Mandi Gobindgarh, secured the second position with 97.38 per cent. Arzoo of Maharshi Dayanand High school, Sirhind, and Amandeep Singh of the MSSSS, Atewali, shared the third position with 96.77 per cent marks. A total of 7,304 candidates appeared for the examinations, out of which 4,769 cleared them, showing a pass percentage of 65.29.
Ropar: Seven students of Class X from Ropar district made it to the merit list of the PSEB.
Kiranjit Kaur of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Takhtgarh, stood first in the district with 637 marks out of 650. She stood 13th in the state.
Muktsar: Not even a single student from any government school in Muktsar district came in the PSEB Class X merit list. Further, of the total 10 students who came in merit, nine are girls. The overall pass percentage in district remained 65.61.
Of the total 9,448 students appeared in the exams, 6,199 cleared it. Amandeep Kaur, a student of the GTB Khalsa Senior Secondary School bagged the 10th position in the state with 98.46 per cent marks.
