Students of IECS Polytechnic College, Jammu, have made a go-kart that fits in the budget of the common man.
Students of the sixth semester of mechanical engineering of the college have formulated the idea of making the innovative vehicle. The estimated cost of the go-kart is approximately Rs 20,000 only. The go-kart has been made using an old four-stroke 156 CC motorcycle engine having 12.4 NM@6500 rpm torque.
The students involved in the project are Amit Gupta, Dinesh Sagotra, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Rahil Sanbyal, Aman Sharma, Shubam Sharma and Aniket Mahajan.
The unique thing in the new go-kart is that it has a five-gear shift and five reverse gears, which make it more adventurous for sports and fun propose.
About the project, group leader Amit Gupta, said it took the team around 25 days to make the go-kart. It was a single seat vehicle and the chassis was made of stainless steel, which could carry a weight of 150 kg.
