Why do the police take so much time to respond to calls of residents? This was one of the questions raised by students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sector 25 (West), during an interaction with the UT Senior Superintendent of Police Dr SS Gill here today.

Students residing in Hallo Majra, Vikas Nagar and Mauli Jagran told the SSP that a number of times when their near and dear ones called the police station to report about any incident in their locality, police personnel turned up at the spot very late.

Gill told the children that in future they should call the police control room number 100 instead of the police station. During the session, only one of the 80 students said that she would join the police, when the SSP asked them about their future plans. Students said there were many other career options.
