Chandigarh, August 29
The chief of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) student wing, Digvijay Chautala, visited Panjab University to announce the panel for the Indian National Students Organisation (INSO) today.
With this visit, the student parties have opened their account of calling stalwart leaders for campaigning on the campus for the upcoming council election.
Even though the INLD chief had nothing new to offer in the party manifesto for the forthcoming student council election, he asked the supporters to campaign for INSO on the campus. He pleaded that INSO was the only party related to Haryana left in the fray after the Haryana Students’ Association merged with the ABVP for the PU council elections.
Party leaders revealed that talks were on with other parties, except NSUI, the student wing of Congress, for alliance. Last year, INSO allied with the Students’ Organisation of India (SOI) to contest the poll and won seat during the election.
Chautala to meet Governor soon
Digvijay Chautala, while addressing the students, said the party was going to give a representation to the Governor in a few days that the Scheduled Caste (SC) students, who come to the university, should be given stipend by the Haryana Government. We will try to get funds from the Haryana Government for the welfare of students, Chautala added.
INSO, SDHU members join NSUI
Former INSO president of the GGDSD College Sachin Galav and Pardeep Gujjar of the SDHU joined the NSUI at the Student Centre on Monday. Gagan Brar, NSUI election in-charge, said they would work for the welfare of the students.
