La Montessori Principal gets national award

KULLU, SEPTEMBER 6

Lalita Kanwar, Principal of La Montessori Public School (LMS) at Kalheli village of this district, was conferred the national award on Teachers’ Day by President Pranab Mukherjee. She was awarded a medal, a certificate and Rs 50,000 at a function in Delhi. Lalita had also received the CBSE National Award by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) last year.

Lalita said she felt honoured as the receiver of such a prestigious award and it was a great motivating factor. According to her, this recognition reinstated the faith she had on her own systems and simultaneously, put her in a more responsible position. She stated that the recipients met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani on the eve of the function.

A total of 338 awards were given to teachers from across the country on September 5 to accord public recognition to the meritorious teachers working in elementary and secondary schools.

Hamirpur teacher gets award

Hamirpur: Naveen Gautam, lecturer in biology at Government Senior Secondary School, Mundkhar, Hamirpur district, has brought laurels to the school as well as the state by winning the first National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Award for the state.

He was awarded the coveted citation by Pranab Mukherjee, President of India, in the national capital on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
