Adding another feather into its cap, INIFD Ludhiana’s budding fashion designer Bhawdeep Singh bagged the first runner-up award at a fashion contest held at DLF Emporio, India’s finest luxury retail destination at New Delhi. The competition was based on the conceptual illustration of the design, further transformed into final garment. The competition received 300 entries from across the country and Bhawdeep Singh was among the final 23 contestants. A panel of highly acclaimed judges- Ritu Kumar- an international fame fashion designer, Bandana Tewari- editor of fashion features at Vogue, Sunil Sethi- president of FDCI, Dinaz Madhukar- vice-president of DLF Emporio and Gaurav Gupta- a renowned fashion designer judged the event and appreciated Bhawdeep for his unique and eye catching garment.
Ritu Kumar complimented him for his attention to finishes, detailing and embellishments in his garment and explained its importance in the international fashion market. The outfit was inspired by the vintage era. The cape and pencil skirt which ruled the 1920’s onwards period till the last decade of the previous century were given a modern look with stone embellishments on the edge of the skirt and the high neck by Bhawdeep.
“I was on cloud nine when I heard my name among the winners and getting the award from such big names in the industry is an unforgettable moment for me,” said a happy and proud Bhawdeep Singh.
Chairperson of INIFD Ludhiana – Amardeeep Lall informed that Bhawdeep is lucky winner to get internship under a renowned designer as a part of the award and will be invited to showcase his collection at DLF Emporio at the Pop up Shoppe- the annual event organised on a large scale.
