MBA student brings laurels to institute

Abhishta Sharma, an MBA student of the LM Thapar School of Management (LMTSM) at Dera Bassi, has brought laurels to his institute by bagging an annual package of Rs 17.34 lakh for this year for research from the University of Twente, Netherlands.
Abhishta, who completed his study this session, would be working on the business aspects of Internet security at the University of Twente, where he already did a three-month internship on a computer programme in 2014.
“My project semester at the University of Twente (from April to June 2014) entailed developing a computer programme that could automatically collect data online on specific topics for research purposes. On the basis of that project, I have been given this research assignment by the university,” said Abhishta.
“Now my area of research at the foreign university would be on the business aspects of Internet security,” said Abhishta.
Praising the achievement of Abhishta, Dr Padmakumar Nair, director, LMTSM, said bagging such a handsome package for research field is very appreciable.
“This year 41 companies, including 12 first-time recruiters, have picked up the B-school’s industry-ready talent at an average annual package of Rs 4.84 lakh. We are thankful to industry leaders for reaffirming their faith in our dynamic industry-oriented curriculum and a unique in-house pedagogy,” he said.
