MDU, Rohtak, has reduced 50 per cent seats of 22 institutes running BEd course. The university has also slapped a fine ranging between Rs 1 and 2 lakh each on the institute for not fulfilling the minimum conditions set by the NCTE to run the course.
Among them, 13 are located in Jhajjar, Rewari and Mahendragarh districts. The action was taken by the executive council (EC) of the university at its meeting held yesterday. The decision has come as a relief to the colleges, as they were placed under no-admission category by the academic council (AC).
