DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, organised a motivational talk on the topic “How to Achieve True Success and Greatness in Life’ for Classes IX and X here on Tuesday. Swami Satyeshananda, a motivational speaker, spoke on the occasion. He is associated with the Ramakrishna Mission Mission ashram where the monks serve people belonging to all sections of society, irrespective of their colour, creed or nationality. He began his lecture with vedic chanting. During his talk, he quoted various incidents and stories to tell how in adverse circumstances need to carry on with conviction. He made students aware of the potential in each one of them had told the stories of the people who had a humble beginning and made it big in their lives owing to their determination. He inspired the students to dream big and to achieve excellence in their lives. He exhorted the students to seek real happiness in the service of others. He showed them an informative video on how to handle stress in life. He emphasised on the ideas that strength was life and weakness was death. in The interactive session, the students participated enthusiastically and put forth their queries. He gave valuable tips on how to manage emotions. The principal of the school, JK Sidhu, thanked the speaker for broadening the horizon of the students.
Colour day
New GMT Public School organised the color day for pre-primary classes. Students wore colourful dresses. They were told to collect balloons and balls of different colours. Principal ManjeetKaur said the tiny-tots would learn names of colours easily with the activity.
Investiture held
The investiture ceremony for the primary wing of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, for the academic session 2015-16 where the student leaders were handed over their responsibilities by the authorities. Atul Mehta, member, school management committee, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The house captains received sashes and flags from the respective their house mistresses. The old council handed over sashes and flags to the prefects. Later, school principal Dr Paramjit Kaur and the chief guest presented sashes and flags to the head boy and head girl. The headmistress, Anuja Kaushal, introduced the school council of CBSE International. The head boy and head girl promised to bring change for a better tomorrow. This was followed by an oath-taking ceremony.
Workshop organised
DAV Public School, Sarabha Nagar Extension, Ludhiana, in association with Space Technology and Education Private Limited organised a workshop for Classes VI-VIII. The workshop was presided over by Aman Mittal, head of SPACE, and Avnoor Singh, educator from SPACE. They elaborated on universe and its components, seasons, basic of rocketry etc. The AV room at the school was converted into a mini planetarium, which led to a virtual space walk for the students. Principal Dr Mohan Lal Sharma thanked the the SPACE faculty for rendering a wonderful experience to the students. He also said producing astronomers and space scientists was an essential step towards developing a nation .
Inter-class cricket tournament
An inter-class cricket competition was held for boys of Classes XI & XII. The participants enthusiastically contested to bring laurels and glory to their classes. The top 3 positions were bagged by science, arts and commerce stream students. The girls took part in fabric painting, embroidery, knitting and stitching. School principal Dr Vandna Shahi said such events helped students groom their talent and gave them exposure to the world of opportunities.
Workshop on disaster management
A workshop on disaster management was organised by Institute of Disaster Management and Fire Sciences, Chandigarh, at the Mittal auditorium of Sat Paul Mittal School. Students of Classes III-XII attended the workshop. The resource person from IDMFS, Yashpal Chauhan, gave tips to the students. Chauhan stressed on the need to be alert and fearless. He also demonstrated the use of a fire extinguisher in case of an emergency. Speaking on the occasion, Bhupinder Gogia, principal, Sat Paul Mittal School, said that the school was in the state of preparedness and shared the responsibility of reducing the impact of the disasters.
School trip
Praying for the bright future of students and the welfare of the School, the staff of Spring Dale Senior Secondary Public School went to Shivwari (Himachal Pradesh) to pay obeisance. The staff members offered prayers at the temple wishing for a successful academic session ahead. AK Walia said that every year the staff visited Shivwari. — TNS
