National Hug Day

Oliver House, Pre-school and Daycare, SBS nagar ‘National Hug Day’, popularly celebrated in the USA and other countries to promote the emotional benefits of hugging. Children were asked to do a group ‘hug’ with their teachers and classmates and were also asked to give a tight hug to their parents, family and friends to make them feel special. Children were explained that a hug can indicate support, comfort and consolation, particularly where words are insufficient and were told about benefits of friendship, affection and brotherhood.

World Laughter Day 

Laughter is the best medicine and we must never skip of a chance of stealing a couple of chuckles from our stressful life. Celebrating International Laughter Day, members of Punjabi Articulators Club of BCM Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh Road, organised a stand-up comedy show for the students. The students participated enthusiastically and showcased their talents. Divij of Class IX, Parteek of Class IX and Akash of Class IX bagged first, second and third prizes, respectively.

Punjab’s biggest Tricolour

Ryan International School, Jamalpur, initiated making Punjab’s largest Tricolour. Students from Class VI-VIII participated enthusiastically in the activity. Patriotic feelings could be marked on the faces of students while preparing the National Flag. They showcased their art of hand printing and created a master piece. The flag is 65 ft. long, 5 ft. 6 inches wide and weighs 12 kg. Principal Gurpal Kaur Anand appreciated students creative bent of mind and urged them to display their patriotism and live for country through their actions, not just on national festivals but every day.

Students honoured

Ram Lal Bhasin Public School honoured students with trophies for their performances in drawing and colorring competition organised by Reliance Life Insurance. Muskaan Kalra (XII), Ambika (IX), Yukta(VII) got the first, second and third position in category while Shruti (IV), Dishant (V) and Jaskirat (I) bagged first, second and third positions, respectively, in the juniors category. Principal Raman Oberoi congratulated the winners. — TNS
