Aiming at teaching Punjabi to people, living farfetched from Punjab, especially the Non-Resident Indians, the state Education Minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema today launched an online Punjabi learning website, www.elearnpunjabi.com, on the premises of Punjab School Education Board at Phase VIII in Mohali.
“The website, which has been developed in collaboration with Punjabi University, would help anybody, sitting in any part of the country or abroad, interested in learning Punjabi language,” said Dr Cheema adding that the website would be very useful for NRI Punjabis who can now teach
mother tongue to their children without traveling anywhere.
He said in the modern era of globalization, we must take full advantage of new technologies to promote our mother tongue across the world. The minister dedicated the website to 50 years celebrations of Punjabi Suba.
An advanced technology has been used for Punjabi online learning in which audio-video assistance has been provided on website. The website will regularly be updated and online examination facility will soon be provided so that appearing candidates can evaluate their performance.
