Rumour of another question paper being made available to students before the examination has put the authorities of the Punjabi University in a tizzy today. Yesterday, the university had to cancel the examination of sociology for BA (final year) as the question paper got leaked before the examination.
Now, speculations are rife that question paper of history exam, to be conducted tomorrow, has also reportedly gone viral. The university authorities are now busy verifying the veracity of rumours to take further action.
It is pertinent to mention that this is the third exam that has been allegedly leaked from the examination centres at Sangrur and Barnala. Earlier, question paper of English was also reportedly available to students a day before the exam.
VC of Punjabi University Dr Jaspal Singh said such incidents were cause of concern and they have already brought the matter to the notice of the police. He informed that the police have zeroed in on few suspects and guilty would be nabbed soon.
Meanwhile, the university has decided to make the entire examination system digital in order to avoid such incidents in future. On the pattern of Punjab Technical University, the university has decided that all papers will be sent to the e-nation centres online just half an hour before the exam and the controller examination will send a password right in time so that the papers can be opened and downloaded. He claimed that the new system will be operational from next examinations.
University registrar Dr Devinder Singh when contacted said that they have received information in this regard and trying to find out if the information was true. The investigations were on at the time of filing of report and the history exam had not been cancelled.
