The NSUI celebrated its 46th Foundation Day on the campus. Chandan Rana, national co-ordinator, NSUI, said: “In 1971, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi formed the NSUI with the aim of empowering the student community to create responsible citizens and leaders based on values of democracy, secularism, liberty, quality and equality. Today, the NSUI is the largest and prime students’ organisation of the country with its unit in every college and district,” he said.
MCM DAV girls shine
Students of the college clinched the top positions during FEN Fest held at PGGC-11. In the competition of ‘PSAs’, Janvi Satija (BA-III) bagged the first prize while Aneesha Pental (BA-II) secured the second position. Geshna Sharma (BA-III) portrayed her creativity in the ‘Weave a Story’ contest to secure the first position; Gunjan Kapur (BA-III) got the second prize in the same contest. Displaying their ingenious anchoring skills, Aneesha Pental and Janvi Satija won the first and second prize, respectively in ‘News Reading’. Osheen Guleria’s (BA-III) laudable performance in ‘Just a Minute’ got her first prize while Gauri Bhardwaj (BA-III) stood first in ‘Group Discussion’. The budding radio jockey Kovida Mehta (BA-I) came second in ‘Radio Jockeying’ and Parul Bakshi (BA-II) had a special prize to her name. TNS
