The Department of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, on Wednesday organised a special lecture, revisiting religion to commemorate the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur. Former head of Guru Granth Sahib, Department of Punjabi University, Patiala, and presently serving as Director of Tohra Institute of Advance Studies in Sikhism, Prof Balkar Singh, delivered the lecture. He stressed upon the issues that the definition of religion should be formed and understood in the light of contemporary situations with reference to Guru Tegh Bahadur Bani. The chief guest at the function was Chairman of Apex group of Companies, Dubai, and also the Chairman of the Sarbat Da Bhala organization Dr SP Singh Oberoi. Three almirahs full of books donated by the late Prof Rajinder Kaur Dhindsa, Principal of Sant Dhesian College and President of Tohra Institute, were inaugurated by the chief guest and Prof Meenkashi. Prof Jaspal Kaur Kaang thanked Prof Madanjit Kaur Sahota and Dr Maninder Kaur for donating the books to the real cause in the department of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies.
