PALAMPUR, July 6
Shilpa Sharma from Paprola village has secured the 81st rank in IAS exams. Shilpa had 259th rank in civil services examinations, 2013, and opted for the Indian Revenue Services (IRS).
This year Shilpa put in more hard work and cleared the IAS main. At present, Shilpa is under training in the Indian Revenue Services Academy at Nagpur.
Shilpa belongs to an ordinary family and her mother is serving in Aanganwari school of the state Welfare Department. Her mother says that Shilpa was studious and intelligent and used to secured top positions in Binwa Public School, Baijnath, where she studied till plus two.
Later, Shilpa joined NIT Hamirpur where she completed her B-Tech. Since 2012, she had started preparing for IAS exams. Shilpa never joined any coaching institute for the preparation of the IAS examinations.
Talking to mediapersons, Shilpa says IAS aspirants kneww well that which books need to compete for the examination. But she said NCERT books were very helpful and advised others that one must go through these books.
