Patiala lad Sanil Garg has bagged the third position in the Punjab Medical Entrance Test – 2016, the result of which was declared today.
Lovish Gupta of Faridkot topped the test with 100 percentile, while Arvind Gulati of Talwandi Bhai, Ferozepur, bagged the second position.
The elder son of doctor couple Dr Sandeep Garg and Dr Shifali Garg,
Sanil had also bagged the 23rd rank in the AIIMS test 2016 recently and is looking forward to joining AIIMS for his medical course.
His parents are exhilarated over his success and say it is a proud moment for the entire family. Sanil’s father, who is a radiologist, runs a radiological centre here, but Sanil does not plan to join him in the future. “I want to study neurosurgery as there is a lot of scope for research,” he said.
Giving the credit of his success to his family and teachers, Sanil said he had worked really hard to make it to AIIMS. “Since childhood, I wanted to be a doctor and thought it was cool to do what my parents are doing. When I grew up, the commitment became stronger since it is a noble profession. For the past six months, I have been studying for over 10 hours every day and am glad that it bore fruit,” he said.
