As many as 567 students of various colleges appeared for the Axis Bank Campus placement drive at LGC Campus. An online test was conducted and students appeared for the posts of post of assistant manager and officers’ grade. Nearly 76 students were selected from LGC, Chaukimann, Arya College, Ludhiana, GHG Sudhar and YS College. Ranjeet Singh, vice-president, Axis Bank, congratulated students. Amandeep Gill, HR, Punjab circle, Axis Bank, will conduct HR round followed by medical examination for all the selected student of the region.
WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION
Women Cell of BCM College of Education, Ludhiana, celebrated Women’s Day with full fervor, zest and zeal with the theme “Look beyond Looks”. MEd, B.Ed (general) and BEd (special education) students participated whole heartedly in the event by reciting poems, songs, motivational stories, dramatics, skits etc highlighting the different roles of women. Vice-principal Dr Ravinderjeet Kaur acquainted the audience with the student-support activity started by the women cellwherein one or two needy students of the college are provided financial help. Principal Monika Sethi, encouraged the students by saying that today’s woman is educated and well equipped to handle any situation may it is in house hold or in social life of administrative capacity.
COOKING WORKSHOP
The anti-ragging and home science society of Government College for Girls, Ludhiana, organised cake baking, icing, sandwich and pudding making workshop for its students. Principal Mohinder Kaur Grewal. She said presenting the food items and delicacies in an attractive manner was an art and students must learn the techniques and practice them well. Dr Grewal said ragging was bad practice for the new students. I am happy our campus is Ragging free. This credit goes to the committee, she added. A poster making competition was also held.
ANNUAL CONVOCATION
Malwa Central College of Education for Women, Civil Lines, organised the annual convocation. BEd and MEd students were awarded with the degrees. ADN Bajpai, vice-chancellor of the Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, presided over the ceremony and delivered the convocation address. Roll of honour was presented to Pooja Grover for standing first in the college and fourth in the university. She also got Ram Dayal Singh Memorial Gold Medal.
FAREWELL PARTY
The campus of Khalsa College for Women Civil Lines dazzled with colours amidst the farewell party today. A beautiful and entertaining extravaganza comprising elegant dances, melodious songs, bhangra and choreography was presented by the students. The hallmark of the day was Miss Farewell contest in which 45 students participated. An Alumnus of the college Paramjeet Kaur Chahal, who is acting as District Education Officer, Ludhiana, graced the occasion. She was nostalgic about the days that she had spent in this institution. Principal Mukti Gill appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers. She wished good luck to the students who are passing out from the college.
RAMGARHIA GIRLS COLLEGE
Students of the Department of Commerce, Ramgarhia Girls College, gathered today to bid adieu to the outgoing students of BCom. Ranjodh Singh, president, Ramgarhia Educational Council presided over the event as chief guest. Dr Narinder Sandhu, former principal, Ramgarhia Girls College, was the guest of honour. Principal Inderjit Kaur extended them a hearty welcome. The day proved to be an amazing fiesta devoted to the precious time spent in the college. Students of BCom presented scintillating dance performances and a number of games played by the students as well as teachers added to the fun quotient. Students of BCom III donned vibrant dresses and put on a great show of glamour in Ms Farewell contest.
